generation

I am sure that most of us found such a great link between “our” generation and Nakajima san’s during her talk today. That is, that Nakajima san’s decision to conduct an anti-Iraq war lawsuit was motivated by her learning of Nori’s activities, especially his going to Iraq and being taken as a hostage.

From this, I thought of the following: When we talk about generation gap, I think we tend to focus on how “youth” act differently from the parents’ or older generation. But Nakajima san’s talk let us realize that the other way around is also powerful. People of older generations are also deeply influenced by younger generations. Nakajima san’s case is especially encouraging for young people because she acted after learning something from them.

  1. I completely agree, I remember I was eating with Mike and the next thing I new Nakajima san was sitting right next to us, without and Professor Field and Tomomi by her side! ^_^
